{"id":237,"date":"2011-07-11T20:28:34","date_gmt":"2011-07-11T18:28:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/romanillos.org\/?page_id=237"},"modified":"2023-12-02T18:07:12","modified_gmt":"2023-12-02T16:07:12","slug":"en-santos-hernandez-rodriguez","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/romanillos.org\/?page_id=237","title":{"rendered":"Santos Hern\u00e1ndez Rodr\u00edguez"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>In 2008 the Diputaci\u00f3n Provincial de Guadalajara bought the contents of the <strong>workshop and the Archive of Santos Hern\u00e1ndez<\/strong> for <strong>El Centro de la Vihuela de Mano y la Guitarra Espa\u00f1ola \u201cJos\u00e9 Luis Romanillos\u201d<\/strong>. This has facilitated the reconstruction of his workshop with his workbench, his grindstone, bending iron and almost a hundred of his tools, guitar, bandurria and Spanish la\u00fad  plantillas, and his ingenious solera for assembling his guitars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-81\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Santos Bay\u00f3n, Jos\u00e9 Luis Romanillos and M\u00aa Antonia P\u00e9rez. Photograph by Marian Harris.\" src=\"http:\/\/romanillos.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/El-Taller-de-Santos-Hern\u00e1ndez-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: x-small; text-align: center;\"><em><strong>Santos Bay\u00f3n, Jos\u00e9 Luis Romanillos and M\u00aa Antonia P\u00e9rez.<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The Santos Hern\u00e1ndez Archives contains a collection of over one hundred  letters and documents which give important details about his activities, prices of woods and the guitars he made in his workshop in calle Aduana in Madrid. There is a Register for the year 1926 with meticulous details of the running of his workshop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are two panels of photographs on display (a third one in store) picturing the many personalities who passed through his workshop and who used his instruments. For over twenty-five years <strong>Andr\u00e9s Segovia<\/strong> used a guitar made by Santos Hern\u00e1ndez when he was working as foreman in Manuel Ram\u00edrez\u2019s workshop in Madrid. Segovia travelled worldwide spreading the art of the Spanish guitar and Spanish music. The Spanish guitarist <strong>Regino S\u00e1inz de la Maza<\/strong> gave the premier of <em><strong>Joaqu\u00edn Rodrigo\u2019s<\/strong> Concierto de Aranjuez para Guitarra y Orquesta<\/em> in 1940 playing on his Santos Hern\u00e1ndez guitar called <em>La Rubia<\/em>.
